Please support  the Nursing Home Improvement and Accountability Act of 2021

In August of 2021, Senators Ron Wyden (D-OR), Bob Casey (D-PA), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Michael Bennet (D-CO), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), and Sherrod Brown (D-OH) introduced the Nursing Home Improvement and Accountability Act of 2021 (bill S.2694).  This legislation would increase transparency, accountability, and oversight in nursing homes, improve staffing, and support innovation in the structure and culture of these facilities.

A companion bill, H.R.5169, was introduced in the House of Representatives on September 3, 2021 by Representative Richard Neal (D-MA).

Become a Dementia Friend!

Consider joining the Dementia Friends USA movement and becoming a dementia ally through acts of kindness. Their website has a free series of short, informative videos that teach simple actions, such as how to recognize and approach someone needing assistance in a grocery aisle or on a bus, that can make a big difference to those living with dementia. A “Dementia Friend” is someone who, after viewing this series of short online videos, learns about what it's like to live with dementia and then turns that understanding into action.
